Dr DP Rastogi Central Research Institute for Homeopathy in Noida inaugurated

RastogiNew Delhi: The Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) and Health and Family Welfare, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik inaugurated the Dr. D. P. Rastogi Central Research Institute for Homeopathy in Noida.

The institute has been set up for overall promotion and development of Homeopathic System of Medicine and carrying out advanced research on scientific lines in homeopathy. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shripad Naik said that the alternative systems of medicine like homeopathy have now come into focus and the government is making all efforts to provide high quality AYUSH facilities available to the people.

Dr. D. P. Rastogi Central Research Institute for Homeopathy has facilities of a high order including facilities for all types of investigations, X-Ray, Ultrasound, blood tests, ophthalmology, ENT, physiotherapy, etc, the Minister lauded. It is commendable that the Institute has a 50 bedded IPD and caters to need to nearly 600 OPD patients per day, he said.

The AYUSH Ministry has tried to take forward the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by initiating a Swasthya Raksha Programme to protect and promote health for preventing, identifying and treating the diseases related to poor hygiene and sanitation, the Minister disclosed. The programe is being implemented by the eleven institutes of the Central Council of Research in Homeopathy. The D. P. Rastogi Central Research Institute at Noida has also adopted 5 villages and thousands of people have already benefited under the program.

The Minister for AYUSH explained that the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy has designed a program ‘Homoeopathy for Healthy Child’ with the aim to sensitize health workers, patients and care givers to deal with conditions such as diarrhea, respiratory infections, dental conditions, skin conditions etc through Homeopathy. The program is being implemented in 10 districts including two blocks of Gautam Budha Nagar.

To promote Dr. D. P. Rastogi Central Research Institute for Homeopathy as one of the premier research institutions of Homeopathy, two state of the art laboratories are being established for undertaking basic research in Homeopathy. With this, the Institute will become an asset for the entire Northern Region of the country in providing health care services to the people and advanced research, the Minister added.

The President, Central Council of Homeopathy, Dr. Ramjee Singh said that the credit goes to the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for setting up a separate Ministry of AYUSH due to which alternative system of medicines including homeopathy have now found a new place in the world of medicine. Dr. Rastogi was an outstanding name in the field of homeopathy and its a matter of proud that the Institute is named after him, he said.

DG, Central Council of Research in Homeopathy Dr. R. K. Manchanda said that the state of art laboratories tobe set up will take the Homeopathy system of treatment in India to new heights.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Secretary, M/o AYUSH Sh A. K. Ganeriwala said that the popularity of Homeopathy system of medicine is increasing very rapidly. There are 190 medical colleges of Homeopathy and thousands of students are passing out every year from these colleges. At present, there are 2.5 lakh registered practitioners of Homeopathy in the country, Mr. Ganeriwala added.

Shri ShripadNaik released two publications prepared by the Council of Homeopathy:

1) Booklet on “Guidelines for Homeopathic Practitioner for clinical management of Dengue fever”

2) Booklet on “Dant nikalne ke dauraan homeopathy ke saath swashyavardhan for ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers ‘Homoeopathy for Healthy Child Programme: Ministry of AYUSH’

He also released IEC Material including a poster and a pamphlet on “Swasthya Rakshan Karyakram” of Ministry of AYUSH.

The AYUSH Minister planted a sapling in the premises of Central Research Institute. He also felicitated the son and daughter- in- law of late Dr. D. P. Rastogi.

Mrs. Vimla Batham, MLA, Noida; Padamshree Dr. V. K. Gupta, Chairman, Scientific Advisory Committee, CCRH; Dr. N. Radha, Advisor(H), Ministry of AYUSH; experts from the field of Homoeopathy; Doctors of the Institute and official of the Ministry of AYUSH were present on the occasion.
