Equal status for all systems of medicine in Pakistan

PUNJAB Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said the government is extending due patronage to allopathic, homeopathic, acupuncture and herbal methods of treatment for providing quality health facilities to the masses.

According to a handout issued on Saturday, the minister said that, on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, free of cost treatment and diagnostic facilities as well as medicines were being provided to the patients in public sector hospitals in the province.

He stated this at the prize distribution ceremony of Warsan Homoeopathic Laboratories Ltd. He asked homoeopathic doctors to take steps for the upgrade of curriculum of homoeopathy and raise standard of homeopathic medicines so that the medicines could compete in the international market.

He assured the participants that their demands/grievances regarding Excise and Taxation Department would be redressed at the earliest whereas demands regarding Federal Board of Revenue would be forwarded to the federal departments.
