Homeopaths can practice allopathy after studying: Maharashtra government
MUMBAI: Maharashtra government today told the Legislative Assembly that doctors wanting to practice allopathy should study pharmacology subject and an ordinance to this effect will be promulgated next month.
Replying to a calling attention notice on the issue of demand of homeopathic doctors to practice allopathy since there is shortage of allopathic doctors in rural areas, state Medical Education Minister Vijay Kumar Gavit said it was not possible legally to allow medicos to practice a medicine which they have not studied.
“Unani, homeopathy and others doctors wishing to practice allopathy should study pharmacology. It will be a full course of one year and they will be allowed to practice only after they clear the examination,” the minister said.
Accordingly, Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act, 1961 will be amended.
He said the Homeopathy Council in Delhi has been requested to include the subject of pharmacology in the homeopathy curriculum.
Nana Patole, Kushal Bopche, Sanjay Kute (all BJP) said ayurvedic doctors are allowed to practice allopathy in primary health care centres, to which the minister said there is an optional subject of pharmacology in ayurvedic syllabus.
“Those who have studied pharmacology can practice allopathy,” he said.
BJP legislator Girish Mahajan said there is an acute shortage of allopathic doctors in rural areas.
Vijay Waddetiwar (Cong) said homeopathic doctors in rural areas treat patients in remote areas and save lives but still have to face legal problems because they are not allowed to practice allopathy.
Sir i want to know that a M.p bhms students can get allopathy practice or study in maharashtra state.

i it is a very good news for a homoeopath that he can practice allopathic medicine and also practice homoeopathy……because any pathy is not compelet….the issue people arises about practicing the pathy but no one arises issues about how to treat a sick lonely people…always we oppose a nagetive pathy because we think our ego should maintain..and it is a sickness too……….so i kindly requesting those homoeopath with bottom of my heart that please don’t oppose for practicing allopathy…because what about those Dr. who had paid large amount of fees and still doing job on private hospitals and clinics….our aim is not to practice our pathy but according to master henemann “physician high and only MISSION is to restore the SICK to HEALTH to CURE as it is termed”
a very good moovement by the maharashtra govt which i think should be done by all states in india as the sylabus of MBBS & BHMS are same except pharmacology

ACCORDING TO LAW AND ORDER IF A RIKSHWALA DO THE TRACHISTOMY IT IS NOT THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE WNEN IT IL WILL SAVE THE LIVE .
THEN WHY DONT THE AYURVEDH OR HOMOEOPATH CAN NOT GIVE THE SOME EMERGENCY LIFE SAVING DRUG IN EMERGENCY PATIENT IF THEY ARE INSTITUTIONALY TRAINED ?
THE ORTHODOX HOMOEOPATHS PREFER TO REFER THE PATIENT IN EMERGENCY,LATER THEY WILL TREAT CONSTITUTIONALY OT MIASMATICALLY . BUT THE PATIENT DESEVE THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL AID IN LEFE THREATNING SITUATION .
THE ORTHODOX WILL FILL WHEN THEIR CHILD ,FATHER OR MOTHER WILL NEED THIS .
IN EMERGENCY LIKE –IN LVF PATIENT NEED LASIX ,
IN ORGANOPHOSPHORAS POISONING IN RURAL AREA{MOST COMMON } PATIENT NEED PAM , ATROPIN SULF , IN SNAKE BITE PATINT NEED AVS , NEOSTIGMIN ,
THUS EVERY DOCTOR SHOULD GIVE THE EMERGENCY AID FOR SUFFERING HUMANITY .
IF THIS PAHARMACOLOGY COURSE BE MANDATORY TO EVERY DOCTOR IN EVERY STATE THERE WILL BE MULTY LEVEL BENIFIT IN SOCIETY .
IT DOES NOT MEAN A HOMOEOPATH WILL BE CONVERTED ALLOPATH .
IF YOU LEARN ENGLISH IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL FOGET MOTHER LANGUAGE , IT IS YOUR WON OUT LOOK WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR PATIENT BENIFIT.
LASTLY ONE YEAR PAHARMACOLOGY COURSE SHOULD BE A CHOICE OR THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST 6 MONTH MENDATORY CRITICAL CARE MANAGEMENT COURSE FOR EVEREY DOCTOR .
THERE ARE SO MANY EXAMPLE THAT A ALLOPATHH HAS BECOME CONVERTED HOMOEOPATH .
PLEASE DONT WORRY THE ORTHODOX HOMOEOPATH ,IF YOU REALLY WANT ,YOU WIL BE A HOMOEOPATH , BUT DONT CHEAT THE EMERGENCY PATIENT .
