Sub : Workshop for ‘Mainstreaming RNTCP in AYUSH sector’.

Sir,
Tuberculosis is an age old and still a significant problem in our country. Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) is being implemented by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India across the country and in Mumbai by Public Health Dept. with active contribution from Medical colleges.  In view of the recent concerns of increasing cases of Multi-drug Resistant TB in Mumbai and the concerning issue of inadequate awareness and lack of the best coordinated and appropriate activities against TB control among Private Practitioners and Practitioners of Alternate Medicine, it is now a pertinent need to take up necessary activities to strengthen the TB control efforts collectively across all types of medicines and in private and public sector.

In this context, with the focus of mainstreaming AYUSH sector in RNTCP, it is proposed to organize a workshop on understanding the TB control activities and services in Mumbai and discussing on the specific activities / linkages for AYUSH sector Medical Colleges/ AYUSH Medical Practitioners in Govt. and private sector.   The faculty from PSM dept., Chest Medicine dept., RNTCP programme officers from state and officials from BMC’s Public Health Dept. will be the resource persons for this workshop.

The workshop is designed for policy makers/ decision makers/ administrators / senior faculty members and most importantly practitioners of AYUSH in Mumbai. Deans  & HODs of 2 depts from all AYUSH Medical colleges in Mumbai will be participating in the workshop.

Your presence will be of great value for the discussion and will be highly appreciated. In context of World TB day, this event is being planned on 03.04.2012 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.  Registration is free. The agenda of the workshop is enclosed herewith.

The plan and the activities to be undertaken proposed through this workshop can be shared with the program managers and these experiences from Mumbai, can further be replicated across the state. Your cooperation in this endeavor will be instrumental in mainstreaming RNTCP in all streams of health care providers and achieving the goal of TB control in Mumbai through universal access for TB patients.

 Yours sincerely,
(Dr. R.R. Shinde) Professor & Head Dept. of PSM GSMC & KEMH

  1. it is i would say also due to the neglect hoemopathy faces because the administrators are not able to put hoemopathy in the way it needs to ,to the decision makers ..we need to have people who can represent hoemopathy the right way ..

  2. Lack of seriousness on the part of Homoeopaths could be the cause.
The fate of Role of Homoeopathy in MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH CARE.’a very Good opportunity for Homoeopaths to show case the system had been lost.
Lets awake before its too late.
