Homoeopathy Centres in all Panchayats in Kerala within a year

HospitalKOCHI: The project to set up homoeopathic treatment  centres in all panchayats will be completed in one year, said Health Minister V S Sivakumar. He said the UDF government has so far allotted 110 homoeopathic treatment centres.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for Ernakulam District Homoeo Hospital at Kakkanad on Tuesday.

The government policy is to give equal importance to homoeopathy, allopathy and ayurveda. “Facilities  for homoeo studies are being augmented as part of the policy. Many patients, even those suffering from cancer, have found relief in homoeopathy,” Sivakumar pointed out.

He claimed that measures initiated to prevent spread of viral fever bore fruits with number of people suffering from viral fevers coming down to 5,000 this year. Last year the figure had crossed 19,000.

The district homoeo hospital which is functioning in a building having limited space at Pulleppady is being shifted to the  proposed `2-crore building at Kakkanad. The hospital is expected to start functioning within a year. The new building will have facilities such as consultation rooms and X-ray.[Source]
