Kerala Clinical Establishments Bill in the next session

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health minister V S Sivakumar told the assembly  that the Kerala Clinical Establishments Bill would be tabled in the House in the next session. The Bill is expected to ensure a monitoring mechanism for private hospitals and laboratories.

“The exploitation happening in the private sector can be curtailed once the Bill is passed,” he said. “It will ensure monitoring of private hospitals and labs, their registration and implementation of a uniform fee structure for services offered.”

He said the Bill would ensure the safety aspects of services offered by the private institutions and qualification of staff offering these services. It would also see to the responsibility vested with the government for issuing licences to these institutions. [Source]
