Temples in Andhra Pradesh will soon have Ayush hospitals

TirumalatemplePopular temples in Andhra Pradesh will soon provide Ayurveda, Unanai, Sidha and Homoeopathy Centres health care services, apart from running free feeding centres and educational institutions.

Temples can partner with the government’s Ayush department (or health department) or can run 10, 30 and 50-bedded hospitals directly on their own.

While some of the big temples, including Tirupati, are offering such services, the decision will make it mandatory for about 180 places of worship – with revenues between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 20 lakh – to launch the social services.

People offering to these temples will get tax benefits.

  1. Excellent decision, should include Panchakarma, Physiotherapy also. May have connectivity with each other for refferal services as all AYUSH Hospitals will not be of same status.

  2. Good decision but they can run vedic and Hindu religious education centers along with Anna Danam which is prescribed under the tenants and not other educational institutions as the money donated by the Hindus for the development of Temple and Gods religious functions and not otherwise.Government should not interfere in to this like non interference with Muslim& Christian functionaries.
