On 25th January 2012

The Medical Education in the 21st Century conference will be a new addition to the Arab Health Congress.  Recognising the need for a medical education based conference, this programme will aim to introduce key issues that are related to the current trends, innovations and directions in medical education.

 This one-day programme is designed to cover a wide range of topics: from leadership to accreditation, to teaching in different settings. As such, the topics will educate and enhance the knowledge of those who teach, as well as those who learn in order to improve medical education in the UAE and abroad.

  • Review the various methods of teaching in different settings
  • Discuss how to achieve proper leadership in medical education
  • Assess the professional boundaries between students, teachers, and patients
  • Describe clinical training, using the Sharjah Clinical and Surgical Training Centre as a model
  • Identify how practicing surgeons can learn new skills in simulation
