KARACHI: Department of Homeopathic medical sciences; at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) is not catering admissions this year due to absence of permanent faculty.
The department is based on single class-room and only 13 students have been studying since it was established in 2014.
Whereas the FUUAST’s homeopathic dept is not accredited by National Council for Homeopathy.
On the other hand, there are 134 colleges and faculties that are registered with NCH across the country, out of which 17 educational intuitions are situated in Sindh. Ironically, none of the institutes offer master degree.
FUUAST’s homeopathic department is the only department which is being run by the universities administration but there is lack of proper educational activities, research and expertise of homeopathic sciences.
“We have no facilities like laboratories for research, classrooms for the students and permanent teaching faculty”, Rubina Mushtaq, FUUAST’s Dean of Sciences confirmed.
She further said that students are facing hardships in their studies. However some of the students are attaining their classes in other institutes. The administration is trying to resolve all these issues.
