Calcarea Phosphorica 6C in Augmenting the Calcium and Phosphorus Content in Moringa Oleifera Leaves–An Experimental Study

Dr. M I Sharadhi

Introduction:
Agrohomoeopathy is an emerging field applying Homoeopathic principles to promote plant growth and improve nutrient assimilation naturally. Moringa oleifera, known as the “Miracle Tree,” is rich in essential minerals, particularly calcium and phosphorus, vital for both plant metabolism and human nutrition. Calcarea phosphorica 6C, a classical homoeopathic tissue remedy, is believed to enhance mineral absorption. This experimental study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Calcarea phosphorica 6C in increasing calcium and phosphorus content in Moringa oleifera leaves.

Methods: A prospective experimental study was conducted on 60 healthy Moringa oleifera saplings, divided equally into treatment and control groups. The treatment group was irrigated with Calcarea phosphorica 6C diluted in distilled water (1 ml/1000 ml), while the control group received potable water under identical conditions for 60 days. Leaf samples were collected before and after the intervention and analyzed for calcium and phosphorus using UV Absorption Spectrophotometry. Data were statistically evaluated using paired and independent t-tests.

Results: The treatment group showed a significant increase in phosphorus content (p = 0.0032) compared to baseline and to the control group post-treatment (p = 0.0185). However, no significant difference was found in calcium content between the two groups. Minor variations were observed in calcium levels in both groups, but phosphorus showed marked improvement under homoeopathic treatment.

Discussion/Conclusion:
Calcarea phosphorica 6C demonstrated the potential to enhance phosphorus assimilation in Moringa oleifera leaves, supporting its role as an eco-friendly bio-enhancer in sustainable agriculture. Although calcium levels were unaffected, the findings encourage further exploration of different potencies, longer durations, and larger sample sizes to confirm its agricultural benefits and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers.
