Homoeopathy recognizes the importance of mental trauma and its manifestations on physical plane. It is one of the homoeopathy’s strengths that it can prescribe on the slightest emotional or mental factors, forestalling the development of subsequent pathology.

Key words: Mind, emotion, thoughts, individual medicine, homoeopathy, memory.

Introduction:

In Homoeopathy mind is considered as the core to the individual for case study.

Mental and Physical states are dynamic duo rather than separate entities. Based on mental and emotional symptoms homoeopath select remedies which works wonder on critical cases. Mind-Body Unity Homoeopathy rejects the idea of mind-body duality. Instead, it views them as a single, seamless entity where a disturbance in one inevitably affects the other. Mental symptoms include a wide range if emotional and psychological expressions such as. fear, phobias, anxiety, depression, mood swings, irritability, lack of concentration and a lot more.

Why Mental symptoms/ mind is considered as most important in homoeopathy:

According to homoeopathic philosophy specially laid by Dr. Hahnemann the mind governs the body. if there are any disturbances in the mind it will reflect on the physical state.

Individualization through mind symptoms —–
The cornerstone of homoeopathy is individualization. No two patients are treated with same medicine, even if they suffer from same disease. mental symptoms, emotions, phobias, play a critical role in the process of remedy selection. While selecting a remedy which is best suitable for the patient first comes the mental traits, emotion.

  1. How irritable the patient is?
  2. How much the patient reciprocates when asked about the suffering?
  3. The patient’s reaction to stress.
  4. Patient’s fear, desires, memory, forgetfulness, anger etc.
  5. Does the patient weeps explaining about past suffering or past incident.
  6. The patient is melancholic or happy, extrovert or introvert?

As mental symptoms are the core of case history homoeopath has to be a good listener and observer. Remedies are selected not just based on physical complaints but primarily on the patient’s mental and emotional disposition.

Mind – body connection and its approach in selecting remedies …

Homoeopathy says that prolonged emotional disturbances can lead to physical discomfort / diseases.

  • Chronic stress can lead to digestive issues or hypertension.
  • Suppressed grief can result in respiratory problem.
  • Anxiety can trigger insomnia or palpitation.
  • Long term suppressed sadness can lead to skin issue.

By understanding all these mental aspects while case taking, we should observe and record patient’s expression, emotion, way of speech, behaviour all under mind.

Conclusion.
Homoeopathy plays a prominent role on the mind in both diagnosis and treatment. By recognizing the unity of mind and body, and by prescribing remedies based on particular mental symptoms, homoeopathy offers a deeply individualized and holistic approach to healing. In nutshell, vigilance is the keynote to serve patient in danger.
