ABSTRACT
Menopausal syndrome refers to a collection of physical, psychological, and hormonal symptoms experienced by women during the transition to menopause. There are various remedies in homoeopathy which particularly represents the symptom which can be present in menopausal syndrome.
By categorizing those symptoms into rubrics presented in chapter ‘female’ in Kent’s repertory will lead us to remedies which can be helpful to those women.

INTRODUCTION
- Menopause means ‘permanent cessation of menstruation at the end of
- Reproductive life due to loss of ovarian follicular activity. It is point of Time when last and final menstruation occurs.
- Menopause is caused by loss of ovarian follicular function and decline In circulating blood estrogen levels.
AGE OF MENOPAUSE
The age of menopause ranges between 45-55 years, average being 47 years. Late menopause is seen in women with high parity or higher BMI, earlier menopause is seen in cases following chemotherapy, ovarian resection.
ENDOCRINOLOGY
- Few years prior to menopause, along with depletion of the ovarian
- Follicles, the follicles become resistant to pituitary gonadotropins.
- As a result, eVective folliculogenesis is impaired with diminished
- Estradiol production. There is significant fall in the serum level of
- Estradiol from 50-300pg/mL before menopause to 10-20pg/mL after Menopause.
SYMPTOMS
Vasomotor symptoms – hot flash is characterized by sudden feeling of heat followed by profuse sweating, palpitation, fatigue, weakness. Genital and urinary symptom – estrogen plays important role to maintain the epithelium of vagina, urinary bladder, urethra. Decrease level may cause dyspareunia and dysuria.
Sexual dysfunction – estrogen deficiency is often associated with decreased sexual desire.
