CCH wants to cancel registration of homoeopaths who practise allopathy

cch-2Vadodara: The Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) has asked all its state councils in the country to cancel registration of homoeopaths who practise allopathy.

“The CCH had issued a notice stating that Homoeopathic Practitioners (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Code of Ethics) Regulations, 1982, have been amended as notified in the official gazette dated July 12, 2014, which is required to be strictly adhered to by all registered practitioners under HCC Act of 1973,” CCH President Dr Ramjee Singh told PTI  today on the sidelines of a national seminar on homoeopathy held in the city.

The CCH has also issued a notice to its registered practitioners asking them to practice homoeopathy and use drugs prepared as per homoeopathic principles, he said.

Singh also said that CCH teams will conduct surprise visits at all 188 homoeopathy medical colleges in the country before giving them accreditation for next academic year beginning from June 2015.

This is a part of an annual exercise of inspection before giving accreditation letters to the colleges.

“The accreditation of homoeopathic colleges has been made compulsory from last one year,” Singh said.

“In fact, the Union Health Ministry wanted to implement the Minimum Standard Education Requirement (MSER), jointly prepared by CCH and the Ministry, in all the colleges from academic year 2014-15, but could not do so due to some practical difficulties,” he said.

Earlier, 121 homoeopathic colleges, including 36 run by state governments, were not found fit for accreditation as they failed to meet the requirements for it. These colleges were granted amnesty by the Union Health Ministry and allowed to admit new students from academic year 2014-15, he said.

Now, its implementation will begin from the new academic year beginning June 2015, he said.

“If the colleges fail to rectify the deficiencies, they will face serious consequences, including derecognition,” Singh cautioned.

He also stressed the need to regulate the functioning of homoeopathic colleges in the country and standardising its education with a syllabus prescribed by the CCH

  1. Each and everyone want to take treatment from specialized personality.
No one wants to take treatment from simple M.B.B.S.; is it possible that any one desire to take allopathic treatment from hands of Homoeopaths?

  2. I feel they should increasse more jobs for homeopaths. Because most of them are into pvt practice of which main aim is to earn a living. And when one understands that he has to deliver positive results so that more and more patients start coming in…. as he has to pay clinic rentals, electricity, etc, he is already pressurised which in turn forces him to take up some quick fixes. And no matter how hard he studies in his graduation, practical hpathy is a bit different from theoretical hpathy. It Takes time to master it but since the economy is growing exponentially….there is NO time.
