A study to highlight the role of homoeopathy in the treatment of eczema in pediatric age group

Eczema in children is rapidly increasing among the Indian population. It captures 30 per cent of total patient among coming to pediatric. The exact understanding of evolution of eczema is not clear. There is an urgent need to rapidly evaluate new and existing therapeutic approaches for children with eczema, and to make the common people know about the effectiveness of homoeopathic treatment in controlling and preventing the recurrence of eczema in paediatric age group.

Objectives
To know the role of homoeopathic medicines in the treatment of eczema in the pediatric age group.

Methods
Total of 30 cases were selected for the study based on purposive sampling method.

This is before and after treatment without control type of experimental study (hypothesis testing research study). The diagnosis was based on clinical history, clinical presentation, local examination and necessary investigation if required. For the assessment of the clinical status before and after treatment the score pattern was used and paired ‘t’ test has been used to test the hypothesis.

Conclusion:
Homoeopathic medicines are effective in treating eczema in pediatric age group.
