HOWRAH: The centre has approved Rs 10 crore for the purpose, said IIEST director Ajay Ray, adding that the institute would soon sign a MoU with Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy to set up the centre. Scholars in medical science, engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry and chemistry will also carry out research at the centre.
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) at Shibpur will soon open a centre for homoeopathy and other alternative medicines.
The Centre for Advanced Research in Traditional Medicine, which will be named after renowned homoeopath Bholanath Chakraborty, will also award doctoral degrees in homoeopathy, ayurveda and unani medicines and yoga.
