Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Kozhikode, and JDT Islam College of Pharmacy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaborative research, academic partnership, and interdisciplinary scientific innovation in pharmaceutical and health sciences.
The collaboration brings together the strengths of two premier institutions to promote evidence-based research in medicinal plants, homoeopathic medicines, pharmaceutical sciences, and drug development. The partnership aims to integrate expertise from Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Microbiology and Biotechnology, and Quality Control and Instrumental Analysis with the clinical and research expertise of Government Homoeopathic Medical College.
A major objective of the collaboration is the scientific evaluation, quality assurance, standardisation, and validation of homoeopathic medicines and medicinal plants using advanced pharmaceutical technologies and modern analytical techniques. The MoU will encourage interdisciplinary research to better understand the quality, safety, and characteristics of medicinal substances while promoting innovation in healthcare research.
The collaboration will also focus on phytochemical investigations, pharmacognostic studies, microbiological and biotechnological applications, pharmaceutical analysis, and the development of modern quality control protocols.
The two institutions will jointly undertake research projects, organise seminars, workshops, conferences, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes, faculty development programmes, and scientific training activities. Such initiatives will encourage knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary learning, and collaborative innovation.
The MoU will create valuable opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD scholars, faculty members, and researchers of both institutions. Students will benefit from exposure to advanced laboratory facilities, modern analytical instruments, interdisciplinary mentorship, and collaborative research projects, thereby enhancing their research skills and scientific outlook.
