NIT Calicut and Government Homoeopathic Medical College Kozhikode to Collaborate on Interdisciplinary Research

The Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Kozhikode, and the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote interdisciplinary academic, scientific and research collaboration.

The partnership will bring together expertise in Homoeopathy, Materials Science, Biosciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Bioinformatics to develop new research initiatives of mutual interest.

The proposed collaboration will include advanced scientific characterization of homoeopathic medicines and their source materials, including studies related to nanoparticles and nanomaterials using modern analytical techniques. Research collaboration in biosciences will explore appropriate in-vitro and experimental approaches to study biological effects and safety. Chemical and chromatographic investigations of plant-derived homoeopathic preparations will also be undertaken wherever scientifically and analytically feasible.

Another important area of collaboration will be the application of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data analytics and computational methods to clinical, experimental and biomedical research.

The initiative aims to establish a sustained academic and research partnership between the two institutions and to encourage technology-oriented and translational research capable of generating scientifically robust evidence relevant to homoeopathic medicine and healthcare.
