Homoeopathic management of varicose veins-a case report

Abstract:
Introduction:
Varicose veins are abnormally dilated and tortuous superficial veins of the lower limb commonly resulting from Venous value or incompetence and increased venous pressure. This is part of a spectrum of chronic venous disease which is a significant cause of patient distress and health service burden. The assessment of patients with venous disease involves a detailed history and careful examination of the legs for the distribution of veins and skin changes. .

CASE PRESENTATION:
This report describes the case of a 37-year-old female home maker who presented with a two-year history of prominent, tortuous veins over both lower limbs, more marked on the left side, accompanied by , soreness, and blackish Discoloration on left side of legs. Ankle weakness aggravated warm On the basis of a detailed case history and repertorial analysis using rubrics pertaining to varicosity, , soreness, blackish discoloration on the left side and warm-aggravation Hamamelis was selected as the indicated remedy on the strength of both the repertorial totality and its well-documented materia medica correspondence,  and its extremity symptoms of sore varicosity and ankle weakness.

Intervention and Outcome:
The patient received a received single dose of Hamamelis 200C, followed by Calcarea phosphoric 6x  and regular follow-up. Within one month, Blackish Discoloration was markedly reduced with Pain slightly reduced , soreness reduced, and Ankle weakness. And from first follow up patient reported Blackish Discoloration reduced pain reduced, soreness reduced. The Modified Naranjo criteria for homoeopathy (MONARCH) score was +7,indicating a major clinical improvement.

Conclusion:
This case highlights the importance of early recognition and Individualized management of Varicose veins and emphasizes the need to avoid over reliance on symptomatic or purely mechanical intervention without addressing the underlying constitunal predisposition. The observed clinical improvement following individualized homoeopathic treatment warrants further systematic investigation through well designed controlled clinical studies to evaluate its role as a complementary approach in the management of Varicose veins.
