Dr Sravanthi

ABSTRACT
The Repertory to the more characteristic symptoms of the materiamedica by Constantine Lippe is the precursor of The Repertory of the homoeopathic materiamedica by Dr J T Kent. The Repertory by Dr kent is in use frequently in present days, but the main source for such wonderful Repertory is forgotten. In order to know what made one repertory superior to another, an attempt is being made to differentiate these two repertories. It has been found that the Repertory by Dr Kent is constructed more systematically for easy understanding. Dr Kent’s Repertory has more number of remedies compared to Dr Lippe’s Repertory. The philosophy-Deductive logic is being used by both the authors, but Dr. Kent represented it well in comparision with Dr Lippe’s Repertory. Dr Lippe had draw backs in formulating his repertory entirely on deductive logic due to the influence of Dr BoeninghausanWho’s Repertory is based on inductive logic.

KEYWORDS:- Repertory to the more characteristic symptoms of the materiamedica, Repertory of the homoeopathic materiamedica.

OBJECTIVE
Differentiate between The Repertory to the more characteristic symptoms of the materiamedica and The Repertory of the homoeopathic Materia Medica.

INTRODUCTION
The Repertory of the homoeopathic materiamedica is the book recommended for the undergraduates thus making the book popular among students and also popular among practitioners. But the repertory of the more characteristic symptoms of the materiamedica is the pioneer. Both the repertories are based on deductive logic, where the general symptoms are given more importance than the symptoms common to the disease condition. Though both the repertories are similar an attempt is made to differentiate between these repertories

CONCLUSION
Though both the repertories are having similar philosophy there is difference in the construction of these repertories. The Homoeopathic Repertory by Dr Kent is more systematically arranged when compared to Dr Lippe’s Repertory. The clinical rubrics are scattered in Dr.Lippe’s Repertory, and most of them are found in the generalities chapter. DrLippe made an attempt to construct his repertory based on deductive logic but Dr Kent’s Repertory is more of a deductive logic. Thus, making the Repertory of the homoeopathic materiamedica,-By J. T. Kentmore popular in use now a days compared to the Repertory to the more characteristic symptoms of the materiamedica-By Constantine Lippe.
