Allopathy subjects are not allowed in Homoeopathy Courses: CCH
The Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) announced on 7 January that the Allopathy subjects will not be introduced in the curriculum of any homoeopathy colleges. CCH is a statutory apex body that falls under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
The declaration came out after perceiving the demands from the homoeopathy doctors asking for introducing an integrated course on Allopathy in their homeopathy syllabus, so that their options of practicing Allopathy later on get open. Besides, another demand from them was also denied by CCH chief, Ramjee Singh, who proclaimed it as impossible, when homeopathy doctors requested for sanctioning them to do a short-term Allopathy course after they successfully finish their homoeopathy degree course.
The CCH strictly disapproved of allowing even an attempt of introducing the Allopathy related subjects in the study of homoeopathy, told Ramjee Singh.
He further questioned how the council can allow homoeopaths to practice Allopathy since they both are two entirely distinct branches of medicine. The growing demands from homeopathic doctors were rejected in a meeting held in September 2013.
To regulate the functioning and operation of homoeopathy colleges in the country and to standardize the homoeopathic education in sync with the syllabus prescribed by the CCH, several measures are being taken, informed Singh.
The Minimum Standard Education Requirement (MSER) jointly prepared by CCH and the Health Ministry was asked to be implemented in all such colleges of the country. What action is the CCH going to take against the Maharashtra government which has allowed homoepathic doctors to practise allopathy after a short certificate course of pharmacology?
Yes, it is interesting to know what CCH means by not allowing the study of Allopathic subjects in the Homoeopathic curriculum. Is it going to stop teaching the students Anatomy, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Psychiatry, Opthalmology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, Medicine, and Surgery.
Would it not be better if CCH would dwell on improving the Homoepathic education in colleges and concentrate on bringing out Quality instead of Quantity in the presnt scenario
