North Greenville University require Psychology teachers

The Department of Psychology,North Greenville University is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position starting in the Fall of 2014. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates who specialize in an area of experimental psychology, have experience teaching at the undergraduate level, and are able to teach research methods and statistics courses. An earned doctorate with teaching experience is preferred, but an ABD candidate may be considered.

The successful candidate will advise students as well as be responsible for teaching introductory and upper-level courses (4 courses per semester) and contribute to program and department development. The strong candidate will supply evidence of teaching skills with expertise in using technology in classroom instruction and best practices in teaching within their area. In addition to program and teaching responsibilities, preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate successful research collaborations with undergraduates and who are willing to include students in research. The primary focus of the faculty at NGU is teaching, however, some research with students is expected in the department.

The Department of Psychology employees six full-time faculty and 3 part-time/adjuncts. There are approximately 125 undergraduate psychology majors, a strong Psychology Club, and a chapter of Psi Chi. Being a small university with an average class size of 15-25 students in the major courses, our faculty develop strong academic relationships with their students. Preference will be given to candidates who can show evidence of excellent teaching evaluations and a willingness to spend time advising and mentoring students.
