To explore scope of homeopathy in providing scientific and effective treatments in cases of Respiratory Diseases (COPD), to create awareness to Homeopathic medical fraternity and to train the young Homeopathic Doctors to successfully treat and manage cases of COPD.

Objectives of the seminar

  • To understand Respiratory diseases (COPD) – This encompasses a group of lung conditions that cause narrowing of the airways, leading to shortness of breath. It is a progressive disease in which symptoms worsen with time. Chronic bronchitis and emphysema are the most common forms of COPD. In contrast to asthma, the limitation of airflow is poorly reversible and usually gets progressively worse over time. In each condition of chronic bronchitis and emphysema there is chronic obstruction of the flow of air through the airways and out of the lungs, and the obstruction is generally permanent and may be progressive over time.
  • Today’s economic burden and why it is the need of the hour – Worldwide, COPD is ranked as 4th leading cause of death and is predicted to become the 3rd leading cause of death by 2020. COPD is one of the leading causes of death in India and mortality rates are anticipated to increase by 160%.
  • Management of COPD is suboptimal in allopathic medicine because there are very few effective therapies available. There is a need to develop newer and effective therapies for COPD and homeopathy could play an important role in managing these patients effectively.
  • To explore the role of Homeopathy in management of COPD and to gauge its success
  • Establish scientific evidence in management of COPD in homeopathy
  • Understand the role of smoking and environmental aspects in development of COPD and the role of homeopathy in detox and smoking ceasation
  • Utilizing the work of COE which already proved its effectiveness
