ABSTRACT
Homoeopathy always believes on individualization and characteristic symptoms and repertories also follows the same. But in era of neck to neck competition and comparision with conventional system of medicine, the advent of clinical repertories could not be prevented. The grouping of medicines according to the name of diseases, though discouraged by many stalwarts gave birth to clinical repertories. Clinical repertories are those repertories which contain symptoms or condition corresponding to group of medicines. It can be general clinical repertory (Boericke’s clinical repertory, Clarke’s repertory) disease oriented clinical repertory (bells diarrohea, repertory of leucorrhoea) organ based clinical repertory (Minton’s uterine therapeutics, Berridge eye repertory). These repertories facilitate the selection of remedy on the basis pathological similarity, causation, modalities and concomitants. Among all clinical repertories most of the practitioners find Pocket Manual of Homoeopathic Materia Medica & Repertory the most useful in practice.
