140th Foundation Day of The Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College celebrated on 16th February, 2020 at College premises by the Foundation day organizing committee , CHMC&H, jointly formed by the college staff and alumnus under leadership of Dr Rajat Chattopadhyay, Principal of the institution.
All the past Principals & teacher-in-charge of the institute as well as present principals of the Govt Homoeopathic Medical Colleges of West Bengal and Director of NIH were invited for Felicitation program as recipients of Life time achievement award.
Dr B K Bose Memorial award , 2019 and 2020 was awarded to Dr S M Singh, Eminent academician and famous practitioner of Allahabad and to Dr Subrata Kumar Banerjea, International academician, renowned Homoeopath, respectively. Dr Singh and Dr Banerjea both are alumnus of The Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College.
All the students participated through poster presentation, Quiz contest and Debate competition. The program at the adjacent Hall initiated by a short documentary on CHMCH and a small cultural bonanza as inaugural tribute to Tagore & Homoeopathy. The presence of all alumnus made the program live and colourful. All the teaching and non teaching staff, PG students, House staffs, Interns, Students actively participated in the program.
Dr Kajal Bhattacharyya, as President and Dr Subhra Bhattacharyya as Secretary of the Alumni Association actively participated and coordinated the program with Dr M K Roy, and all other alumnus.
The audience became nostalgic with the reminiscing speech of the dignitaries among the alumnus. The colourful ambience and warm hospitality of the organisers marked deep impression in the mind of all and the day was the only beginning of one year celebration of 140th Foundation day celebration of the Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital.
