Different pains mentioned in Kent’s repertory with some interesting rubrics

Abstract:- Pain is a subjective symptom of many conditions which causes discomfort or unease by affecting general condition of a person and it is an indication of various medical conditions,by  which  person realize that something abnormal is happening in body and requires treatment. In repertory different kinds of pain mentioned that helps in the selection of medicine and the intelligent use of the repertory can considerably lighten the work of the prescriber and also make prescribing more precise.

Introduction:– “Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage or described in terms of such damage”. Pain is not a disease but it’s a most common condition of the various medical conditions. Its an abnormal unpleasant feeling over physical  or psychological level involving nervous system.1

There are different Classification of pain and Pain can also be classified on the basis of  sensation too like: burning, jerking, biting, gnawing etc. Pain is also a sensation and kind of feeling which we can easily refer in the repertory in the form of rubrics and even there are  many rubrics for pain in kent repertory which contains only single indicated remedy, If it is the only remedy in a rubric – that have definite action in Homeopathy. Repertory is of prime importance to the homoeopathic practitioner, as a distinct system for the purpose of helping for the elimination of the non indicated drugs.

Pain is perhaps the most widespread and arresting symptom of which patients complain. “The use of repertory in homoeopathic practice is a necessity if one is to do careful work. Our Materia medica is so cumbersome without a repertory that the best prescriber must meet with only indifferent results.”Dr.J.T .Kent.
