Homoeopathy gaining acceptance in veterinary field in Gujarat

Homoeopathy is gaining acceptance in veterinary field in Gujarat, the heartland of milk cooperative movement.

In Gujarat, homoeopathy pharma companies have started approaching cooperative dairies and veterinary clinics to make the homoeopathic treatment popular for cattle. At a time, when a recent Livestock Census data showed encouraging growth in livestock population in Gujarat at about 15.36 per cent against a drop of 3.33 per cent in national average, homoeopathic remedy in veterinary has found big potential in the state.

Ramjibhai Ahir from Junagadh district inquired much about homoeopathy Chittorgarh-based Goel Vet. Pharma’s stall at AgriTech Asia 2014 exhibition held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. He returned convinced to take up homoeopathic treatment for his two buffalo and one cow. There were many others following Ramjibhai’s suit.

Mradul, who is also approaching local milk cooperative societies and veterinary clinics in Gujarat, said homoeopathy can cure the commonly found yet critical illness among animals. Like mastitis, a type of infection in udder, which restricts milk flow, can be cured in a shorter span of time than antibiotics and without affecting hormones. Another serious complication is infertility, which is largely caused by misuse of hormone injections. Homoeopathy has sure cure for animal infertility, stated Mradul. Excess antibiotics and hormone dosages to milch animals were found to be adversely affecting milk quality as well.

Goel also sells milk increasing dosages for cow and buffalo costing at Rs. 50 for 10-day course. “These dosages can be administered on those animals which are producing below their original milk production capacity. And results are seen after 10 days,” said Mradul adding that any domestic milch animal can be administered homoeopathy.

Present in 10 states since 1977 and providing homoeopathy in veterinary, Goel Vet Pharma has established strong presence in northern India with about 10,000 veterinary doctors using homoeopathy medicines for various illnesses that cows, buffaloes or other cattle face. In Gujarat there are a couple of local homoeopathy veterinary players too.[Source]
