UP IMA president suspended for seven years

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Medical Council (UPMC) has suspended Dr Om Prakash Tiwari’s medical registration after it was found that he had “submitted a fake degree for his job at a private medical college after retiring from government services”.

Dr Tiwari (63), sitting president of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), UP, “was suspended by the council’s governing body for seven years or until his attainment of age 70, whichever comes later,” Dr Rajesh Jain, Registrar, UP Medical Council, said.

Besides Dr Tiwari, medical registration of Dr Ashok Kumar Singh (Kanpur) and Dr Vineet Garg (Moradabad) were suspended for one year each, while that of Dr Rakesh Chandra (Meerut) and Dr Neelesh Srivastava (Jaunpur) were suspended for six months and three months, respectively [Source]
