Government of India Invites applications for deputation of an expert to WHO, Headquarters, Geneva, on secondment basis
Ministry of Ayush invited applications in prescribed format from eligible Indian candidates for deputation to WHO Headquarters Geneva on full time fixed term contract basis initially for a period of two years at the position of technical officer at a grade equivalent to the P5 level in the professional grading scale of WHO. 2
Purpose of the position
The main objective is to provide substantive specialist-support to WHO’s work on traditional complementary and integrative medicine in particular related to universal health coverage and UN sustainable development goals through improving integrated, people-centered traditional, complementary and integrative medicine services and health system: the position of seconded technical officer in traditional, complementary and integrative medicine will support the work of Unit Head of the Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCI) Unit and the work of Integrated Health Service (IHS) Department in several projects.
Education Qualifications:
- Essential PG degree in Traditional Medicine recognized under IMCC Act 1970 or HCC Act 1973.
- Desirable: MPH or PhD in public health or relevant health-related subject
Experience:
Essential : At least 10 years experience, some of which gained in an international exposure, in research on herbal medicines directly supported to national herbal pharmacopeia. Solid experience in the areas of national herbal pharmacopeia and essential herbal medicines as well as relevant national policies, regulations, projects and norms & standards of herbal medicines. Proven solid experience in collaboration with multilateral, bilateral and regional development institutions at the International level.
Desirable: Working experience in a senior capacity in the area of herbal medicines / Traditional medicines at national level.
