Implementation of Rs 9.5-crore Ayush Projects to begin this month in Kerala

keralaTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Health Minister V S Sivakumar has said that the implementation of the Rs 9.5-crore worth Ayush projects would begin this month. Inauguration of the projects will be conducted at a function to be held at the Durbar hall of the Secretariat on September 16.

In a press release issued here, the Minister stated that other projects worth Rs 11.5 crore will also be implemented.

Yoga training centres for MLAs and employees of the Secretariat and Assembly and Ayush Holistic centres attached with the District Ayurveda and Homoeo Hospitals will be set up. Doctors having BNYS degree would be imparting training at these centres.

The infrastructure facilities at the Naturopathy Hospital at Varkala will be developed as part of the project. Also, a research facility to study the effectiveness of Homoeo medicine for asthama treatment will be set up at the Homoeopathic Medical College here.

Treatment facility will be set up at Edarikkode in Malappuram to control lifestyle diseases.

Ayush Tribal Mobile medical units and Homoeopathy mobile unit for Kanthalloor-Marayaur-Chinnakanal area have also been planned under the scheme.

Permanent doctors will be appointed at the ‘Ayushmanbhava’ clinics at District Homoeo Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

New blocks will be constructed at the Siddha Hospital at Vallakkadavu and Homoeo Hospital at Neyyattinkara. Four more Siddha hospitals will also be opened as part of the project.
