The value of exports of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) and herbal products increased in the year 2015-2016 comparatively than previous years.
As per the information provided by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), the value of exports of AYUSH and herbal products together for 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 is 36,69,86,349 USD, 35,46,81,946 USD, and 36,39,97,081 USD respectively.
Interestingly, after a decline in the value of exports of AYUSH and herbal products in 2014-2015, increase was registered again in the previous year 2015-2016. However, in terms of quantity of exports of AYUSH and herbal products, there has been a steady increase.
It was 76720120 kg, 92059222 kg, and 95883487 Kg respectively in 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16.
