RGUHS Academic and Administrative training Institute

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka inaugurated the website of its training institute – RGUHS Academic & Administrative training Institute (RAATI) on 28th April 2022.

Inaugurating the website, the Vice Chancellor Dr. M. K. Ramesh said that the University will ensure that all the teachers of affiliated colleges are provided opportunities for professional development through RAATI. On this occasion, he also launched the first course on the Learning Management System of RAATI – the Foundation Course in Educational Methodology (FCEM), which will reach 35,000+ teachers of colleges affiliated to RGUHS in May – June 2022.

On this occasion, Dr. Munir Ahmed R, the Director of RAATI said that the FCEM will provide insights into the foundational concepts of online academics, so that the teachers have understanding of the logic and purpose of teaching and assessment online. He also announced that more courses for teachers and postgraduate scholars are in the pipeline on the LMS platform.

The RAATI will support teachers to develop e-content as per the syllabus of their courses, so as to develop a repository of e-learning resources for the benefit of its students.

RAATI, which was established in June 2019, has been conducting the trainings for teachers of affiliated colleges in three training verticals – Foundation Course in Educational Methodology (FCEM), Basic Course in Educational Methodology (BCEM), Short Course in Educational Methodology (SCEM). It has also proposed to start a Fellowship in Health Professionals’ Education (FHPE).
