3000 delegates from 50 countries for Ayush conclave in Kerala on Feb 15-18

As many as 3,000 delegates representing 50 countries are expected to attend the first International Ayush Conclave — Kerala (IAC-Kerala) which will open at the Kanakakkunnu Palace here on February 15 to 18.The IAC-Kerala 2019 is organised by the Department of Ayush, Kerala, and the National Ayush Mission-Kerala.
The four-day event would showcase ayurveda, naturopathy, yoga, unani, siddha and homoeopathy and various other traditional systems in vogue in Kerala, Health Minister K.K. Shylaja said.
Governor P. Sathasivam will inaugurate it on February 15. 
Seminars, an Arogya expo and international trade fair, a good food conclave, farmers’ meet, and an exhibition on medicinal herbs would be conducted as part of the event, the Minister said. The event is aimed at enhancing the presence of Ayush systems and to draw global attention to them.
“Public health interventions by Ayush systems will be the focus of the international seminar. It will discuss ways to improve the safety, quality and efficacy of Ayush medicines and aspects related to their practice, research and academics.”
Arogya 2019 and expo will serve as a business platform for Ayush systems and products. Workshops on developing a State policy for ayurveda, siddha, unani and homoeopathy (ASU and H) drugs, and international buyer-seller meet and a wellness travel bazaar aimed at promoting Kerala’s potential as a ‘wellness destination’ will be held over the four days. “The expo will have 200 stalls. 
The business meet will explore the global potential for the Ayush industry,” Ms. Shylaja said.
The good food conclave will throw light on the healthy food habits prescribed by Ayush systems, Rajan N. Khobragade, Principal Secretary, Ayush-Kerala, said. 
The farmers’ meet would be held on February 18, aimed at encouraging sustainable farming of medicinal herbs and farm-to-factory integration to minimise wastage and ecological damage.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the closing ceremony on February 18.
