Doctors and students of homeopathy on Monday staged a silent march to the district collectorate for their various demands. Their delegation presented a memorandum to the district collector.
The march started from Paithan Gate. Office-bearers of the Association of Homeopathy Medical Practitioners including Prakash Jhambad, SM Desarada, Balasaheb Pawar, Pawan Dongre, Harish Nandgaonkar led the march.
Homeopaths from across the district and students from homeopathy colleges, along with their teachers spontaneously joined the march.
One of their demands includes providing government jobs to homeopathy practitioners. Among other demands were homeopathy OPDs at government hospitals, stipends for homeopathy students, homeopathy clinics in rural areas, government colleges for homeopathy, separate directorate for homeopathy, a short-term pharmacology course for homeopaths and pay scales as per the sixth pay commission for teaching staffs in homeopathy colleges.

Doctors including Ajay Gujarathi, Uday Shastri, Zinzurde Patil, Manoj Mali, Majid Khan, Sahane, Nilesh Malani, N S Kachkure, Sheikh Aslam, Nirmala Mutha, Rajesh Patni, Jatin Shaha, S M Kulkarni, Anupama Pathrikar, J D Patil, Jitendra Kasliwal, along with many others, took part in the protest. .
